The central estimating team provides support to various business areas, including infrastructure projects, distribution, electromechanical systems, and industrial operations.
The responsibilities:
- Perform studies and cost estimations for incoming tender or project files.
- Report to the head of the estimating department.
- Analyse and review complete tender documentation (specifications, drawings, etc.).
- Build cost estimation files by gathering information through site visits, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with execution teams regarding cost calculations and project risk assessments.
- Prepare technical and administrative documentation before handover to project managers and site teams.
- Review and analyse contractual terms from clients.
- Prepare, explain and discuss offers and proposals with clients.
- You will work primarily in the office in Ghent.
Your profile:
- Academic qualification in engineering or a comparable technical field, or equivalent expertise built through hands-on experience.
- Previous exposure to cost estimation, tendering or budgeting in a professional context.
- Knowledge of public tenders, utility networks, or similar infrastructure sectors is beneficial but not essential.
- Comfortable using standard office and project-management tools and familiar with cost-calculation or estimating software.
- Strong analytical mindset with a passion for working with numbers and data.
- Thrives in environments with changing priorities or fluctuating workloads while maintaining high standards of precision.
- Collaborative attitude combined with the ability to work independently.
- Curious and critical thinker who digs into details, identifies root causes and shapes long-term solutions.
- Organised and goal-driven, always looking for ways to improve processes and innovate.
